~Shopping is the Best T H E R A P Y~

Hey, I would love to be in therapy for the rest of my life! (..if... it didn’t cost me that much. LOL. Like that can happen). I’ve been treating myself to a lot of shopping this month. A few shawls (yes, I’m beginning to wear them every weekend – throwing out the bawals – well, not literally). And now I’m buying more online! Urgh, I hate that I shop endlessly. Tp sayangla tak beli, kan2? J
I’m currently into animal prints. I’ve bought 2 pieces of textiles from Jakel Shah Alam, which combines a tiger print top and a toned skirt. That would be my new baju kurung, which I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Maybe I’ll show you guys once it’s ready from the tailor. I have also bought a leopard printed top from Zara. Another one I’m looking into is a leopard printed cotton shawl. I will buy it online later this evening. Wah, so nice, and I can’t resist from shopping online. Well, if you can, how’d you do it? Bagila tips J Bukan takmau shopping online lagi, tapi nak try to reduce. Here I am, saying this thing, and yet still doing online shopping nonstop *__* HELP.
There’s more; I’ve been longing to have this bag from Mulberry, with real leopard skin, and also MiuMiu’s leopard printed clogs. They’ll both complement all my other animal prints collections.  They’ll be in my wish list which will remain.. a WISH LIST. Haha..

~Go paperless~

Assalamualaikum gorgeous folks. Just wanna share with all of you on what I get from Maybank's latest ad. A piece of ad on Going Paperless. This is how you can change for the nature (taken from the ad):

  1. RE-USE scrap paper
  2. TURN OFF the plug
  3. NO PLASTIC bag day
  4. LOOK for recycle bin
  5. CAR POOL today
  6. NO STYROFOAM food pack
  7. RECYCLE newspaper
  8. START RECYCLE today
  9. RECYCLE my WATER BOTTLE
  10. PRINT on both sides
  11. PLANT a tree today
  12. Use RECHARGEABLE battery

I think we can all apply this in our work. Be it printing out assignment papers, drafts, paperworks, and so on. So, good luck and make yourself proud! :)

~memories~

Assalamualaikum gorgeous people :) I'm really happy to see a post by Sharifah Kirana, (a professional and renowned designer) on my wedding. Wah, it was a 2-years-ago post. Dah lama dah. But it reminds me of the beautiful wedding dress, and all the settings, likey likey :D

Really like what Sharifah Kirana has done to my dress, but I can't wear them now, I'm not as slim as during the wedding day (xsempat makan puas pun for that whole 2 days). Of course la badan naik like after a year of marriage. Dont know how other ladies out there can maintain even after having kids! Applause to them.

So, back to the topic, check out her design by clicking on her name above. You'll surely love her work :)

Here's a piece my sis bought, which I think is superb.  I'd get it if she hadnt seen it first. Haha.. Dont wanna post my wedding pix, just check out her blog *wink*

~Awareness on Environment~

I know we can’t help from ‘contributing’ to ozone depletion, i.e CFC’s like air-conditioners (don’t we all use it?), and aerosols (from pressured fragrance, deodorant sprays, paints and insecticides - which I think most of us use).

I know I’m not that perfect to talk about saving the world, but we can do something to help reduce the damage and protect the ozone layer. So here’s what I found out on answers.com in summary:
Don't use any aerosols with CFCs as propellant.
Make sure your fridge is as highly rated as it can be and is working properly.
Stop littering and REDUCE, RECYCLE, REUSE more often or always then the pollution in the air will decay and the holes in the ozone layer will patch.
Get rid of all the cars and ALL the ships that blow smoke (can we? – but nothing’s impossible ‘ite J )
Don’t use a lot of energy in your home. THAT speeds up Ozone Depletion
Ban CFCs globally.
Ban the burning of fossil fuels (for the slight reduction in oxygen, and the increase in hot water vapor).
Avoid cutting down trees, except to replace fossil fuels. Preen forests for rotting vegetation.
Reduce aircraft flights, and reduce the altitude that they fly at.
Don't use the car so much.
Turn of the lights and the faucet when not in use.
No heater / air conditioner:
>  Use blankets to stay warm in the winter.
> Wear thinner clothes in the summer to stay cool.

My view:
Go for recycled t-shirts and stationeries, paper bags.
Recycle all plastics and other materials which can be recycled (bottles - cleansers, detergents, shower gels - this alone on my opinion can be a huge contribution to reduce waste and save the planet)
Choose hybrids (I really like Toyota Prius FYI)
Do not burn your trash
And many other ways to show our appreciation to this world.

Surrounding of my future home..

So guys, make yourself aware of the environment that surrounds you J

~Hijab Wearer~

Assalamualaikum and hi all,

Hey, I think I pose like a nerd most of the times. Haha.. So, this is my style going out. Pakai ngan tudung bawal ja, boleh? LOL. Dont know how I'd wear a shawl, tried them, and been trying still, but I find it less suitable for my face (compared to a bawal or in a more correct word - voile).

So, here's a story bout me wearing hijab. I’ve just started wearing hijab since I got married. It’s been almost three years, and I think it’s not difficult to do so. Before, I didn’t think I can wear like non-hijabist wear when I become a hijabist (hijabi or hijabist? inform me if I'm wrong, thanks) - to wear short sleeved tops or knee length skirt. But now I know, cos hijabists are also as stylist as other non-hijabists out there, maybe more J  Besides, there is no such thing as a BAD HAIR DAY. LOL. I’m not that fashionable on choosing / wearing hijab, cos I tend to wear square hijab, avoiding shawls cos eventually my head would look so round, I feel bald. Tak pecaya? Believe it. But I always brave myself to put on shawls instead of a chiffon square scarf (which I need to starch to get the perfect awning. LOL). Been shopping cotton shawls online (three shipments in 2 weeks - crazy), from these people, do check them out cos they have great variety of muslimah stuff: Butik eDast, SugarScarf, and Butik Najjah.

Surah an-Nur ayat 31, a friendly reminder to myself and all Muslimah all around the world:

And say to the faithful women to lower their gazes, and to guard their private parts, and not to display their adornment except what is apparent of it, and to extend their headcoverings (khimars) to cover their bosoms (jaybs), and not to display their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their womenfolk, or what their right hands rule (slaves), or the followers from the men who do not feel sexual desire, or the small children to whom the nakedness of women is not apparent, and not to strike their feet (on the ground) so as to make known what they hide of their adornments. And turn in repentance to Allah together, O you the faithful, in order that you are successful.
 Enjoy  J
Thanks for reading this post *all grin - sengeh*

~Obsessions~

I have obsessions on accessories this moment of time. Been buying quite a few of them this few months. My first big ring (after like 4 years not buying one of that size) is my current favorite. There are a few more, I'll upload them later.

Bangles from Nose, gift from my mum from Mekah. Old beaded bracelet.
F21 green oversized ring. MiuMiu sling bag in powder pink.

~10.11.10~

I'm still figuring out how my blog would look like. Cos I've been going through other blogs, and they're all AWESOME! I don't know where to start, or what to tell. I've been editing a few pix, but still hesitated to put them up cos I'm afraid they don't appear good enough. Haha... I've asked my sis to design my blog's background, and she's still working on it. Hope it turns out well :D I've been blogging from my office, so I don't have the time to properly upload pix or edit my blog's design and what not (though I really REALLY want to). I need to get a broadband for myself and blog from home :)

~first humble entry~

My first entry is this. I have never imagined I would be writing in a blog, like ever. I'm pushing myself to just try it out. Can I, I mean try it out? I think bloggers should be committed to blogging, agree? :) My reason for blogging is that I've been surfing on great fashion bloggers for the last few months. I didn't think that blogging (reading or writing) would be so much fun! At first I came across international bloggers from Australia, USA and so on. But then I came across bloggers from Malaysia. Wow, they're much more related to me (their fashion sense, and their lifes). Applause to all Malaysian bloggers, and I hope to be part of them :) Thanks for reading this ever so boring entry of mine.
