~our limits~

Assalamualaikum my lovely readers (mcmla byk readers, DUH!). Ok, ignore that. To tell you the truth, I’ve been holding up to discuss regarding the muslims limitations, called aurat.
These are a few common mistakes us muslimins make (me included, trying not to at the moment):
1.   Wearing hijab, with short sleeved top (sometimes way up to the shoulder). Way weird man, don’t ever do that. If we are really sincere in wearing a hijab, we’d be ashamed (automatically) to display our aurat parts of the body.
2.   Not wearing socks or covered shoes! Yes, very seldom we find someone who wear socks or covered shoes without she being a ‘tudung labuh girl’.(Erk, mostly la kot, no offense, there might be someone out there who really cover their feet properly.). How can you resist the beautiful pumps (yang dedah sikit tu), wedges, strapped heels? Kalau pakai dengan socks tak cantik kot. But then, this is what holds us from doing the right thing. Sometimes we follow too many fashion trends, that we think we can surpass a few things as we like. If that’s what you think, then think again.
3.   Wearing hijab, with leggings or jeggings (be it covered with long top or not), it is totally wrong dude! Leggings and jeggings (or may I call them leotards – for the retards, *menambah) shows off the perfect shape of the leg. Yes, you may think that your legs are so skinny, they’re not sexy to the man’s eye. But that was not the point. The point is to wear something that expose our body shape is completely wrong. So think about it when you come across a pair of leggings or jeggings. We sometimes says to ourselves, our friends and family that it’s ok to wear, yeah they’re cute on you and so on, but the truth is they’re not to Islam’s view.
4.   Wearing hijab.. the INCORRECT way. How can this happen? I don’t know who created the turban, but nowadays turban seems to be in the season. But what’s wrong with that? The NECK.
ni bukan cara yang betul utk pakai tudung ye kawan2

As I mentioned in the previous point, women can’t expose their body shape, which also include the neck. Let the hijab covers you enough. Again, this is what we call a fashion victim, mati la kalau jadi victim yang ni. There is also another incorrect way of styling a hijab. The hijab is twisted around the head quite nice looking. I even tried it, but then I discovered that the upper neck is partly exposed. Then I decided not to wear it. Oh, and did you know we also need to cover the neck till the chin? You can see the arabs wear it that way. Here’s an example (ignore the hair coming out of her forehead):
tang dagu tu yang nak habaq tu, sama macam kita pakai dalam sembahyang

5.  Wearing short length top. Fashion-wise, it’s not that fashionable. It was so last 5-years (I think that was during my uni years – rasa sangat bergaya time tu, tp rasanya not anymore). Instead, wear a longer top, at least that covers your *ss. Long cardigans are so useful today. They can be put on top of your short sleeved tshirt, and *wullah* you can go out and have a plate of char koeteow :) If you have one, put them on.
6.   Wearing thin material baju kurung or skirt. That’s where petty coat comes in. For baju kurung, I blame it on the salesgirls at textile stores (not totally, but most part of it). They always say that this certain material doesn’t require a lining underneath it. True, the material is not as thin as chiffons, but then when one wears them, their two poles are still visible (standing in front of the light), and also their body shape, sometimes can see the br*. Memang nampak la. Pastu buat segan-segan pulak, tak mau duduk kat cahaya. Hello, wear a lining or petty coat or an inner top to cover la. I’ve been wearing them everyday (petty coat) to work, but it seems comfy to me. Ok ja pun. Just try it. Then the skirts. Skirts are so in season right now. But still, you have to remember to wear a petty coat or any form of lining to cover your legs’ shape.
7.   Aurat not only covers the physical part of our body, but also our manners, our voice, our gestures. Girls sometimes tend to be ‘OVER’, gedik, which may include loud laughing, talking to a man with no limitations or slapping a guy at the back while laughing really loud (I find this common among my friends, but nah-a-a, don’t ever do this. Malu!
8.   Keeping long nails. Haip, potong la kuku tu properly. I know I’m a nail biter (funny terms), so my nails are always short – even shorter than when I was a kid (tu la padah gigit kuku, but that was another story). Wearing hijab, properly covered, yet you have long nails. Yes, you have nice looking nails (not that I’m THAT jealous, jealous sikit ja), but that is a deed of the devil. So, clip your nails nicely. You don’t wanna befriend the devils do you :)
9.   Did you know that showing our hair (or other aurat) to the non-muslims is haram? I remembered an ustazah from my school saying it. But I don’t know if anybody knows about this. Going to the salon for example, most of them are non-muslims, although they are girls, we are not allowed to show them our hair. Help me regarding this, anybody knows of any Hadith or ayatulQuran about this, do inform yah.
Memang banyak perkara yang kita perlu ikut dan jauhi, namun sebagai seorang muslimah, kita mesti ambil tahu and praktikkan benda yang kita tahu. Sometimes kita buat-buat tak tahu. So, be curious, find out more about Islam. I apologize if anybody is offended, but it is also my responsibility to bring this up and inform our muslim sisters. I hope this will be a guide (a really tiny advice) for us to follow and correct ourselves. Read and learn the Quran, get to know the hadith and amal.

~the weekend~

Assalamualaikum and salam sejahtera kawan-kawan sekalian. I've mentioned about me and my family (except Mr Partner) going to KL for the weekend, cos there was also a meeting in Putrajaya. Well, I have to take care of my now 20 months niece, who is now so out of control. I'm not saying it a negative way, cos she's just a child, she's learning new things by the minute. I was kinda tired taking care of her, thus no pics of my outfit from that trip (hmm, maybe sis ada kot skit2, yang candid). If sis got some, I'll surely post. It's not easy taking care of a child while wearing new soft coloured, material clothes. Cos I always ended up like "Hey, don't stand on my pastel pink pants, and don't put your saliva hands on my silk blouse, bla bla bla.." I don't actually scolded her in a bad way. I would finally give in to her in the end no matter what. Eventhough it means ruining my clothes (hmm, ada kot the silver skirt yang beli kt British India, got some black stains on it). But I didn't regret it. Cos taking care of a child needs a huge amount of patience. I can't resist seeing her cry or pretended to cry, huh. So yeah, that was all. (oh, my niece's mummy is super patient - bless her).

I'm preparing with a new post, which is an advice to me and to all muslimah out there. Graci.

~june is summer~

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahhi wabarakaatuh..
Wow, it's been a while. Have been busy with so many things lately, well most of them is my work. So much things I have in my mind right now.

1. Finish up your project, pronto!
2. Find out about Euro-trip (this is what I'm waiting for). I want to visit the whole Europe, but don't seem possible. Haha. Just to inform that I've been to London, Edinburgh, Paris, Frankfurt, and Geneve. Am hoping to go to Amsterdam, Turkey, Morocco (is this Europe? hmm, dunno), Dublin, Rome and Florence. What a list 'ight?
3. Shop! I'm going to KL again this weekend (so, hi Pavilion~~), for a meeting on Thursday with Ministry of Finance, and also a chance to SHOP on Thrusday, Friday and Saturday (well, hoping to stay till Saturday if God forbids).
4. Decide on stone designs to be placed on the exterior of my new house, plus the colour to be painted on the walls, plus the lamps (exterior and interior) - trying to avoid heavy looking crystal chandeliers, but we'll see. Ah, the list goes on - planning on the house stuff.

Ok, that was all. Don't have any pics to include here. I've been wanting to post about aurat, which I shared in my facebook. There are much more to learn about aurat. Sometimes we tend to follow new fashion styles, but we forget that aurat is everything, from your body (except the hands and the face) to your behaviour. We'll discuss this later ok guys. See ya..
